3 Things You Can Learn from Having a Bad Day

Bad days usually start in the morning. You wake up late. Everything seems to be going wrong. You forget something important like a lunch bag. Everything seems reflect your conclusion that yes today is a bad day indeed.

Our bad days have gems if we’re willing to find them, and sometimes a bad day is a bad day. Period.

The following are three lessons to be learned from having a bad day.

#1. Trust in the right timing of things

When we have a vision of the perfect outcome, when we’re stuck in the limited belief that this is our one-and-only opportunity, we aren’t open to other possibilities.

Bad days remind us to let go of the outcome and of our need to control everything. When something isn’t working out one way, other opportunities are waiting or those opportunities aren’t the right ones for us.

#2. A “negative” interaction with one person doesn’t need to affect your interactions with others

Sometimes all it takes is one negative interaction with someone to ruin our day. I think with life experience it becomes easier and quicker to get past those negative interactions.

Jake Ducey says: Don’t let 5 bad minutes of your life affect the rest of your day. (I don’t remember the quote exactly, but you get the idea.) I think this is so true.

#3. Let your bad day teach you something. Let it fuel your dreams.

You can use your “bad day” experience as an anecdote or as inspiration for something like a blog post about having a bad day. You can use it as motivation to achieve a dream.

The type of bad days that can affect us the most are the ones that relate to major goals like buying a house, planning a vacation, or getting into a dream college.

When it doesn’t seem to be working out one way, use this as inspiration find other ways to make your dreams come true. It can be a reminder to put more effort into your dreams. (I’m guilty of this one sometimes.)

Even if the day didn’t go as planned, remember that you have an abundance of support from friends, family, and or coworkers who are rooting for you. They’re there for you to hear you vent and to show you support.

So even though things may not be going your way, remember that the important people people in your life love you and want to see you happy.

  1. Maybe there are not any bad days. There are just days that diverge from our plan, because we are not the planners. From the perspective of the universe, everything s happening as they should anyway.

      1. Whenever I get angry/ frustrated, I ask myself why. If the person in front of me had nothing to do with it, I apologize and start anew. Nothing special to it. Just the ability to analyze your feelings and think rationally. You wouldn’t want innocent people behind bars/ facing capital punishment, would you?
