When life gives you the sign to slow down

Don’t you feel let down because things are not going according to timeline?

You feel stressed. Or you get sick out of nowhere.

Isn’t it frustrating when life gives you the sign to slow down?

You can’t do the things you want to do. Or you don’t have the energy to do them.

Isn’t slowing down sometimes necessary? Doesn’t slowing down the pace of life have benefits?

Slowing down lets you take in what you might have missed had you been so immersed in rushing. Rushing, sometimes, in the wrong direction.

8 Reasons to Slow Down

  1. Slow down because even if you do things little by little, you still get things done.
  2. Slow down enough to breathe. Relax your mind and body.
  3. Slow down to free up our plate. Say yes only to the things that bring you peace, joy, and meaning.
  4. Slow down because it’s not a competition. You are doing the best that you can. You will always have your strengths.
  5. Slow down so that you don’t have to redo things in the future. Pay attention to the details.
  6. Slow down to savor the moment. There will never again be a moment exactly like this one.
  7. Slow down to be grateful for all that you already have.
  8. Slow down to replenish your soul.

  1. I love this post and agree you need to simply slow down at times regardless of all else. You need time to breathe and just chill out. I always feel that nothing is more important in life than chilling out, just looking at the clouds. We all need to zone out especially in this world which is 24/7
Great blog post and can not wait to read more.

  2. Amen! This is such an amazing post. It saddens me that this world values productivity over health. Experts will tell you to constantly be doing. That’s dangerous advice! How could we possibly enjoy success if we have lost ourselves in the trying?

#3 on your list of reasons to slow down is my favorite. Sometimes ‘no’ is the best answer we could give. Saying yes to everything will slowly kill us, physically and emotionally. When we lose our peace, we’ve lost everything meaningful. Wouldn’t you agree?

All my love and very best to you! Thanks for such a beautiful reminder of what’s important in this life! 💕 ~ Holly

    • Hi Holly,

Thank you so much for dropping by. I couldn’t agree more with your comment. Personally, I have found that when I take the time to slow down, I’m way more productive because I’ve had the chance to take a breath and a break. I totally agree that it’s much more important to prioritize one’s peace, so that one doesn’t lose sight of what’s meaningful.

All my love and best to you too! 💕 ~ Andrea
