3 quotes to give you strength to face the day

It happens to all of us. There are days when you don’t feel like your chirpy self. Your perspective of the world feels out of balance. Or you seem to notice mostly the negative things about everything.

It’s totally normal to feel that way. It’s during these times that we need a bit of extra motivation to help us get things done. If you’re looking for motivation to get through the day, today’s post is a round up of 3 quotes to give you strength to face the day.

1. You are enough

Driving back from the library a few weeks ago, I heard a song on the radio that became a favorite. Has this ever happened to you? You’re shopping or listening to an advertisement, and you hear a new song that later becomes a favorite?

Here’s a snippet of the song:

You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing / You say I’m strong when I think I am weak / And You say I am held when I am falling short…

from “You Say” by Lauren Daigle

I found out that the song is called “You Say” by Lauren Daigle who is a Christian music singer. This song is really beautiful and a good reminder of your self worth and of finding strength in God to help you overcome your problems when you’re feeling weak.

2. You are powerful

There’s a quote by Marianne Williamson that I keep copying into every new journal I start. The quote is quite long, but so worth it to keep at hand as a reminder of your inner strength.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us…Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”

from the quote “Our deepest fear” by Marianne Williamson

When Marianne talks about this shine, this light, I believe that she is talking about all of the things that make you who you are: your talents, your dreams, your voice, your style, and your signature qualities that make you you. Marianne believes you should embrace your strengths because that’s how you best make your mark on the world.

3. You are strong

“No matter how much we’ve accomplished, we still feel inadequate, unprepared. It’s not surprising. Many of our greatest moments we experience are moments we cannot adequately prepare for, the birth of a child, the death of a loved one.”

from The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan

In other words, this quote means that no matter how much you do to improve yourself or prepare for the future, there will be days when you may not feel adequately prepared for something.

You may feel like don’t have the experience, the credentials, the status or the money. You may feel like you’re not ready to take the next step. You may not feel prepared or adequate.

Regardless, you have strength to take the next step. You have the strength to help you overcome the problems in your path.

These quotes were created by people who know what it’s like to need that extra motivation to start the day, to find the confidence to start a difficult conversation, or to help them during a time of grief. May these quotes be the encouragement, support, and reminder that you are going to make it through!

3 Fantabulous Benefits of Self Confidence

Even if you don’t feel confident, fake it. Confidence–even feigned confidence–helps you live your dream life and get more opportunities in life. Confidence also helps you make the difference that only YOU are here to make.

Live your dream life

Be confident even when you’re unsure and after you’ve failed many times. No matter how many people believe in you, it’ll always be up to you to believe in yourself. It’s up to you to try, to keep going.

Get more opportunities in life

You risk losing out on opportunities, when you don’t believe in yourself. When you commit to trusting yourself, you give the world a sign that you’re ready for opportunities–whether it’s a job or a project.

Make the difference only YOU are meant to make

I whole-heartedly believe in Marie Forleo’s, “The world really needs that special gift that only you have”. Having confidence helps you make the impact only you are meant to make in this world.

Don’t be afraid to stand out. The world needs your voice, your story, your message. The world needs YOU.

How has your self confidence affected your life? Do you believe feigning confidence helps you get to where you want to be? Is there an area in your life where you’re afraid of standing out?

Why you shouldn’t fall into the self-improvement trap

Since self improvement doesn’t have an end, there’ll always be a thing or two that you can do to improve yourself. Don’t fall into the self-improvement trap. If you do, you start believing that you’re not worthy or beautiful until you change.

You’re worthy and beautiful right at this moment despite your current imperfections.

When you accept yourself completely as you are in this moment, you stop judging yourself for all the “negative” things that make you you. The “negative things” are things like your impatience, your horrible listening skills, or your low self confidence.

When you accept yourself completely as you are in this moment, you learn to be gentle and patient with yourself as you transform into the type of person that you’ve always wanted to be.

When you accept yourself completely as you are in this moment, you see beauty and worth in everyone despite their current imperfections.
